I've always loved crafts. For as long as I can remember, I just loved making things. Origami, sewing, papier mache...
And I've always loved jewellery.
As a teenager I would spend hours in my room making macrame and charms bracelets. Years later, I found myself making my own wedding jewellery with Svarowksi crystals and freshwater pearls, and learned a little silversmithing in workshops.
In 2020, after completing my 300h Yoga Teacher Training, I started making japa malas with semi-precious beads and I gave them away as prizes for my daughter's school's summer fayre. Then some time in 2021, I was thinking that one day I'd love to have a jewellery business... and the name "Soul Seed Jewellery" just came to me- and I bought the domain name straight away!
But it wasn't until the summer of 2022 that I stumbled upon micromacrame, and it opened a whole new world for my craft!
I’m not fond of mass-produced, soulless items. I prefer things that are original and different, and they earn extra points if they’re made by a UK-based creator! I love supporting small businesses and will always choose them over large corporations.
I have a deep love for nature and a profound respect and fascination for Mother Earth. Nature is my sanctuary. Spending time in the woods and swimming in fresh water are vital to my well-being. This is why I love incorporating beautiful crystals, gifts from our planet, into my jewellery.
Every piece is woven and knotted by hand, blending techniques rarely seen together, such as silver smithing and macrame!
This creates truly unique pieces that combine the nobility and elegance of precious metals with the rawness feel of macrame.
